Why did people get married on Christmas Day or Boxing Day in 1800s? (UK)

I've noticed a number of my ancestors were married on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day in London in the 1800s. Does anyone know why this would be done - ie. did you get a discount on your license if you got married at Christmas or something?! Sounds funny, I know, but I'm sure there's some significance to it.

Thanks

Kat
