Obituary taken from the Kamsack Times dated July 10, 2008
William Posnikoff 78, of Kamsack, died June 21, 2008 in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre I.C.U., the culmination of what must have been a lengthy illness endured quietly and pivately. Bill's vocation was farming and selling implements. In the past, he was an active curler, one time hockey player and a devoted fisherman. He had a broad circle of friends.
The major force of Bill's life was his wife Kay and his farm on which he was born. Kay died three years ago and he sold his home about a year ago. He moved into town but was unable to find the spark that would enable him to survive these losses.
Bill is survived by three nieces, Kathy Hancox (Ken Beal) of Wellelsley, ON., Jackie Leiske of Whitehorse, Y.T., Joann Hutsul of Whitehorse, Y.T.; nephew Rock Hutsul (Nancy) of Abbotsford, B.C.; as well as a number of great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Kay; parents William and Helen Posnikoff; sister, Dora Osiejuk; brother, Fred Posnikoff.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Kamsack Hospital Auxilliary or the Intensive Care Unit of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre would be appreciated. The Funeral was held on June 28, 2008 with interment in the columbarium of Riverview Cemetery.
