December 19, 1919 - June 15,2008
Mike Plotnikoff of Pass Creek passed away at Castleview Care Centre on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the age of 88 years.
Mike was born in Brilliant on December 19, 1919 to parents Mike and Hrunia Plotnikoff. His mother passed away soon after and Mike grew up in Gibson Creek with his dad, step-mother and brothers Alex, John and Pete.
Mike met and married Dorothy Strelieff in 1930. In his younger years he worked in logging and later in life he got into carpentry, became a life-time member of the Carpenters' Union and worked throughout the province on dams, schools, hospitals, bridges and power-houses.
He was an avid gardener and loved grooming all his plants.
Mike was predeceased by his son Larry, wife Dorothy, infant brother Billy and brothers Alex and John.
Left to mourn his loss are daugthers Irene (Peter) Semenoff and Ruth (Bruce) Buttnor, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and brother Pete (Helen) Plotnikoff.
Funeral Services were held in the Pass Creek Community Hall on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 followed by the burial in the Pass Creek Cemetery.
Arrangements were in care of Castlegar Funeral Chapel.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Keith Merritt and all the staff of the Castleview Care Centre and the Home Support workers. They would like to thank Leonard Voykin for officiating the funeral service, Bill Strilaeff and the staff of Castlegar Funeral Chapel for their excellent service, the Psalmists, the ladies who made the lapsha, Katie Podmorrow and her catering group, the grave-diggers for preparing Mike's final resting place and all the people who phoned, sent cards, brought flowers and food, expressed their condolences and contributed during the service. May God bless all of you.
