FOFONOFF: Lorene Lucy - February 12, 1920 - June 30, 2012 aged 92 years. Loene Lucy Storgeoff was born on February 12, 1920 to parents Fedya N. and Tatiana (nee Waselenkov) on a farm 8 miles south of Kamsack. In 1926 her parents moved back to Russia along with her sisters Kate and Mary. After two years of hardship they reapplied for permission to return to Canada, and in 1928 arrived back in Canada at the Port of Halifax. She met the love of her life, Joe J. Fofonoff at a dance at the Veregin Hotel and they married on December 3, 1941. They moved from Veregin in 1946 and took over her parents farm 6 miles south of Kamsack. She is survived by her daughter Lydia (Ed) Poniatowski of Porcupine Plain; her son, Don (Pam)of Calgary; her grandchildren Krista (Mark) Tourigny, Brian (Shannon) Poniatowski, Lisa (Emilio) Provenzano, Nancee (Peter) Nayoski, and Jared Fofonoff; her great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Breanna Tourigny, Anthony and Lorenzo Provenzano. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Verna Phillips and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Joe in 1994; parents Fedya N, and Tatania; sisters Mabel Gleboff, Kate Jemieff and Mary Konkin and their husbands Pete, Cecil and Fred W.E.; her brothers and sisters-in-law Anna and George Kazakoff, Alan and Angeline Fofonoff and Pete Phillips. Funeral services were held on July 5, 2012. Interment followed in the Riverview Cemetery.
