Obituary taken from The Kamsack Times dated March 20, 2014
It is with extreme sadness that the family of John Bayoff announces his passing at the Grandview Hospital on February 14, 2014 at the age of 79 years. John was born in the RM of Cote, SK on March 3, 1934 to Nickolas and Mary Bayoff (nee Kurenoff). John was raised on the family farm just outside of Kamsack, SK. After school he took over the farm for a few years. He left the farm in 1957 and went to Lynn Lake, MB, where he worked for Sherritt Gordon Mines till 1985, when he retired. He married Zenia Dulewich in 1960. They raised a daughter, Audrey, in Lynn Lake. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retiring he moved to Grandview, Mb, and spent the summers gardening; always growing too much and giving it away to whoever needed it. The light of his life was his granddaughter, Sandee Lee. He enjoyed spending time with her and giving her rides on the garden tractor. He taught her to drive it at the age of 7 and now she has her own John Deere tractor to cut her lawn on her acreage.
John was predeceased by an infant son, James Kelly; parents, Nickolas and Mary Bayoff; mother and father-in-law Joseph and Agatha Dulewich; brothers-in-law, Sylvester, Mike, Nick Dulewich and Joe Dewyn; and sisters-in-law, Ann Odut and Rose Dulewich. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Zenia; daughter, Audrey (Lenard) Propochuk of Thompson, MB; granddaughter, Sandee Propochuk and fiance, Ian McIntyre of Gimili, MB; his older brother, Nick Bayoff of North Battleford, SK; younger twin-sister, Katie Protasenko of La Ronge, SK; brother-in-law Wasyl Dulewich of Yank, BC; sisters-in-law, Mary Dewyn of Grandview, MB; Stella Dulewich of Lynn Lake, MB and Beatrice Dulewich of Osoyoos, BC; also many cousins, nieces and nephews, along with many friends and extended family members. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in John’s name to Cancer Care Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or a charity of one’s choice.
