Classification: Query
Surnames: La Zarr
I am hoping someone knows something about a La Zarr family who moved to the United States from Berlad, Romania about 1897 or 1898. The names I know are Joseph La Zarr and Edward La Zarr. Joseph was the father, Edward was five or six years old when they arrived in the United States. They were a Jewish family. According to Ed's death certificate, he was born in Berlad, Romania. One U. S. Census record says that both parents were born in France; another says his father, Joseph, was born in France and his mother was born in Berlad. I have been unable to find Ed with his parents; the first public record I have is Ed's WW I draft information. At that time he was living in Colorado. He later lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Phoenix, Arizona.

I would love connecting with anyone who might know anything about Ed or Joseph or any other La Zarr from Berlad. The spelling of the last name may or may not be the spelling brought from Romania.
