I am researching my husband's family and am looking for information on his grandfather, Jacob S. Pinsky who was born in Odessa, Russia in 1877 to Samuel and Ethel Pinsky. He emigrated to the United States, through either Baltimore or Philadelphia, settling in Philadelphia before sending for his wife, Golde, in 1906. Their first child, a daughter, Roslyn, was born in Philadelphia in Nov. of 1906. Their second child, also a daughter, was born in May of 1909. They moved to NYC around 1910, where Jacob was the owner of a candy store, first at 26 E. 105th St., then at 444 11th Ave. and Elton Ave, Bronx, before moving his family to Yonkers, where he also owned a candy store on Lawrence St., living on Bruce Ave. Their son, Herbert, was born in 1921 in NYC.
He died in 1944 while vacationing in Los Angeles, CA. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated. apinsley@surfree.com
