This is helpful. :) I had a feeling that Sweet wasn't Jewish, because I have met a family member here in the Sweet branch, but it's still great to know for sure. I'll have to see if your tree can give her any new information.

My last hope is the Waites! They are my grandmother's family, and I think they were German, which makes it a little more likely, I suppose. Though, like you said, families can and did convert for any number of reasons.
