whatever documentation you have from germany must say if they spoke german or yiddish etc. Is it a church record ?it must give parents'names and witnesees etc

you didn't give us full names ,dob, l ocations etc to do a census search etc for you.

from a superficial look there are lievermanns in census that appear to be german ....
