I'm researching a lady named Bessie Bernbaum. Her father was Jakob or Jacob Futterman. They were from a Ukrainian/Russian village of Ozruch but Jacob and some of Bessie's siblings were in Warsaw just before immigrating in 1922. Bessie arrived a little earlier. Bessie died in Los Angeles in 1932 and is buried there. I found her burial record at JewishGen. In it is says her Hebrew name was Bessie Mirah Bati Birnbaum (alternate surname Bernbaum) As some added information there was also a notation of Yaakov b Yitzhak. Does this last refer to father's Hebrew name? I know that Yaakov and Jakob are equivalent...does the b. Yitzhak refer to Jacob's father? I'm guessing that Mirah was a middle name. What is Bati?
Thanks a lot. EdrieAnne
