Surnames: Asay
H Veronica -- I have copies of tin-types with a note to my father that these were his ASAY great-grandparents from Scotland. It would be another tiny bit of evidence pointing toward a Scottish origin for at least some ASAY families.

These would have been the parents of Ellen ASAY b. 31 Mar 1850 in Cherokee, IA. I have no other information about that line of my family. If anyone reading this knows of an ASAY family in Iowa during the mid-1800s, I would love to hear from you. Penny
