Can't find my great grandparents last name

On my grandmother's death certificate it has H.M. Jaries as her father and her mother's first name as Lancindo and that they were born in Tennesse. My grandmother Lydia was born abt 1874 in Georgia. I have searched everywhere for the surname Jaries and can't find a doggone thing. I am wondering if there was a name change - if anybody can help I would greatly appreciate it.
