So in doing some research, it turns out that a great grandfather with the surname Filyau grew up an orphan. Upon discovering his death record we were able to piece together that he was born in Washington state and died in Alameda California. It also listed that his mother's maiden name was white and his father's surname was also Filyau. I don't have any other information beyond this. Any tips for finding the next step?
