This guy again...... I stopped researching after the last time I got nowhere with Daniel or David. Then I ordered his civil war records and still found myself no closer to proving this man ever existed.
I am researching my Mathews lineage.
I have Daniel Mathias b. 1814 Ohio married to a Elizabeth Wheeler?
His occupation listed on Census is boatman.
1850 independence, cuyahoga, Ohio
he lives with wife Elizabeth, and family: Sarah (1838) Martha, William, Billings Wilson. Daniel and Elizabeth have a son, Alfred listed in the census of 1860 as 6.
His daughter, Martha marries William Shoemakerin 1858.. .
the family moves to Michigan by 1860. Listed in the 1860 census as Casco, Allegan, michigan.
Billings and William S. enlist in the military, 13th Michigan company C.
Billings Warner marries Charlotte Wheeler and William Seth marries Lutheria Thayer. 1870 Daniel and Elizabeth remain in casco, Allegan, Michigan.
1880 I thought I had found, however, it lists the date of births way off.
This is the names he is listed as:
1850 David Mathias
1860 daniel matthews
1870 daniel mathews
There are many different daniel mathias and matthews in Ohio and New york. I cannot find one whom can fit into my tree....
