Could this be the sax player? Maybe one of his children would know the name of the band?

Thomas Samuel "T.S." Mims, the second of five children of Willie Davis Mims and John Wesley Mims, was born in McCormick, SC on April 24, 1918 and was the last survivor of his siblings, James "Joe Moe", Helen Downing, Alice Sanford and Theodore "Ted". He departed this life on Saturday, August 26, 2000. T.S. Leaves to Mourn his passing his devoted wife of 44 years, Marjorie Joyce Mims; a daughter Joyce Mims (John Young), sons, Thomas Jr. (Susan) and John (Marixza); four grandchildren, Arik, Orlon, John and Lionel; nieces, Nathalia Payne, Sandra Mims, Sharon (Jesse) Lewis, Alice (James) Murray and Lisa (James) Edwards; and a host of relatives and friends; preceded in death by a son Raleigh Mims. Service Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, 6:00 p.m. wake, 7:00 p.m. services at Greater Bethesda Church, 5301 S. Michigan. Interment Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, 9:30 a.m. leaving from A.A. Rayner & Sons Funeral Home, 318 East 71st St., going to Oakwoods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donat!
