Hello - I'm researching the Buchanan and Rae families in the Midlothian/Dunfermline area (at present) and I've come across a census entry I don't understand.
My GGG-Grandfather is listed at 18years old in the 1841 census as a 'curdrer app'.
I presume 'app' means apprentice, but what on earth was a 'curdrer'?? His family lived on a farm, if that's any help.
Thanks for any help!
