Thanks for your assistance! We can rule out "France", since Catherine was definitely born in NYC, NY. I found on several censuses ranging from the 1900 up until 1930, that her parents were listed as being from Hesse-Dramstadt, or Bavaria. Also, her parents were very wealthy, and lived amongst the
New York "Society". So in that case it would rule out an "blue collar" occupation for her father.
I'll check into the Catherine's, age 2, and 3 on the 1870;s census.

i found a catherine beck age 12 b-1868 living with a
Franz Meyer. their neighbor was a charles beck. it states that she was meyer's daughter. there is also another girl with a different last name that is meyer's daughter as well. it says that catherine was born in france as well as both her parents.
