Help interpreting handwriting - UK marriage record

I'm not sure this will work but here is a link to the item in question:

I am looking for Jacob Tear and I would normally translate this "Jas" as short for James but I'm not sure if there is a reason for the "b" to be offset. Can anyone tell me if that means something or might it be Jacob Tear?
