I'm trying to track down the details of my G.G Grandfather's death. I think I have found him on the Probate calendar, this has given me his date and place of death 19 Jan 1893, Bury St Edmunds, so why can't I find him on the England & Wales BMD Death Index? Surely he should be on there? If we can find this record we can order a death certificate or is there any way of doing this with just the probate details? Can anyone offer any advice? I'm going round in circles!! Thanks, Louise.
