Hi Richard,

I think the 1853 death record for Harriet is probably the right one.

If Harriet had died earlier there would've been nothing to stop Sarah & Daniel marrying before Edmund's birth, but if Harriet & Daniel had separated some time after William's birth in 1843 and maybe weren't in touch after then it could be that Daniel didn't find out about her death immediately, giving a plausible reason for the delay in marrying Sarah.

It would be interesting to know who the informant was on Harriet's death certificate, maybe there could be clues there. I love a mystery!
