I am collecting data, in the form of printouts of Register entries, concerning births marriages and deaths of UK expat workers in Rouen between 1835 and 1844 from the Rouen Etat Civil online archives. I propose to re-enter the data into a database (iDatabase) which I should like to post onto a suitable genealogical forum. The rationale is that family historians might then have access to ancestors who had apparently disappeared from the UK. The Rouen Etat Civil archive is not indexed online and thus will not yield information in the manner to which we have become accustomed.
My question to the community is where I should post the database to maximise access.
There are problems such as the legibility of the entries, the scribe's interpretation of the spelling of the surname and place name (which is French phonetic) and the translation of the occupation. Any advice would be welcome.
