I am writing my Masters dissertation on the search for genealogical information in the archive. Essentially, I will be producing some ethnographic work based upon interviews and experiences with amateur and professional genealogical researchers. I am framing it against the expectations versus the realities of archival research under the influence of popular cultural phenomena such as Who Do You Think You Are?
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in assisting me with this project by participating in a short interview via e-mail or Ancestry messanger. I would be asking you 3-4 questions about your experiences with genealogical research, using archival materials, and sources like Ancestry.
Please let me know if you are interested. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
