Sager Family Reunion

We are having a Sager Family Reunion for any Sager Family members who are related to the Christian and Hanna C. Rorick Sager family from Cedar County, Iowa. They had six sons, Frederick, Charles Henry, Augustus, Gottlieb, William, and Edward. Anyone who thinks they may be related to this line of Sager may contact me for details. The reunion will be held June 22, 2003 in Stanberry, Mo., the place where 5 of the above sons lived and raised their families. I have a large list of Sager relatives, however, there are some I have not uncovered at this point, I know there were alot of them who settled in Iowa, Nebraska, even Canada. So if you suspect you may somehow be related, please contact and we will compare notes. All of the above Sager family came from Hannover, Germany in 1842 and settled in Cedar County, Iowa by 1850. Thanks, Karen Sager Hull

Van Houten Reunion

We are interested in gathering the descendants of John Henry William Van Houten and Elizabeth Ann (Kent) Van Houten in Lenox, Iowa for a reunion in August, 2003. First we need to know if people are interested in such a gathering. It would probably be held in the middle of August. We do need an immediate response--no commitment, just as to interest.

Some of the children of John and Elizabeth are George H. Van Houten 1846-1930, Peter Van Houten born about 1839 and Oscar Van Houten born about 1858. The children of George H. Van Houten and Salina (Jenks) Van Houten are: Darthula Van Houten 1867-1914, Ozro Van Houten 1869-1928, Marge Van Houten 1871-1959, Martel Van Huten 1873-1953, Vernom Van Houten 1876- 1938, Walter Van Houten 1876-1936, Arthur Van Houten 1881-1974, Bertha Van Houten b. 1883, Abi Van Houten b. 1886, Bessie Belle Van Houten b. 1888, Clara Myrtle Van Houten 1890-1949, and Mary D. Van Houten b. 1893.
The children of Peter Van Houten and Sally Jenks were: Oliver Van houten b. abt. 1861, John Van Houten b. abt. 1862, Grant Van Houten b. abt. 1864, David Van Houten b. abt. 1866 and Clinton Van Houten b. abt. 1868

We do not have the wife or children listed for Oscar Van Houten b. abt. 1858.

There may be other children or grandchildren of which I am not aware.

Please respond to gtuomi@ivic.net as soon as possible. Thank you. Greta
