Cole-Freeland-Lumpkin-UNDERWOOD Family Reunion

The annual picnic of the Cole-Freeland-Lumpkin-Underwood descendants was held at the Mankato City Park, Mankato, Kansas, August 20, 2006.
President Mark Underwood welcomed everyone and Helen Lumpkin McClain gave table grace preceding the meal.
A short business meeting was held after the meal. Recognized as coming the longest distance was Lin Cole and his grandson, Jacob, from Fresno, Calif., Lin is a grandson fo the late Philip Eber Cole.
The 75th reunion will be held the third Sunday of August 2007. The group plans to meet at the Warner Grove south of Esbon, Kansas which was the location of the first reunion in 1932.
Since a number of the descendants in the group descend from the FREELAND FAMILY LINE VIA MARY ELLEN FREELAND COLE AND RACHEL FREELAND MOYER, it was voted to add the name Freeland to the designation of this gathering.
About 59 descendants of these familys were present. Dorthy Lumpkin, Smith Center, Kansas and Wilma Underwood of Burr Oak, Kansas were the oldest in attendance.
