Capron Family Gathering

A CAPRON family gathering will be held on Saturday 5 July 2008 at Capron Park in Attleboro, MA. While the primary
focus of this group is in the descendants of ancestor Banfield Capron who settled in Attleboro, MA in the 1680s,
descendants of ANY Capron line are welcome.

This is the first gathering for this family held in recent memory and perhaps this can be the stepping stone to
future gatherings. Details are still in flux but if you are interested in attending or being added to a mailing
list of Capron descendants please email Phil DeSilva at desilva@comast.net

Phil DeSilva
Check out my web site Connecting Capron Cousins
http://home.comcast.net/~desilva/index.htm
Hello Nims family researchers!

Just thought I'd keep you updated on the latest NIMS NEWS announcements! The Nims Family Association Members newsletter, August 2006 announced the association's events scheduled for the 2006 NIMS FAMILY REUNION September 29 - 30, 2006. The events start on Friday Sept. 29th with social time starting at 5:30pm, complete with a speaker and the movie "Captive" which was filmed in Deerfield.

Saturday, Sept. 30th starts at White Church at 9:30, a slide show about the route the captives took after the raid. There will be presentations on Godfrey's grandson, David, along with the progress on the cataloging of the Nims files; there is also a discussion on the Canadian descendants of Abigail Nims. Clothing of the Hudson Bay company will also be worn by two of her descendants. A humorous talk will be given about taverns; walking tours, as well as lunch available for $6.00 at White Church.

Having attended several NFA Reunions in the past, it sounds like a lot of preparation has been done so all will have an experience to talk about when they return home! Stories about current descendants should be shared also!! Kudos to the Reunion event planners and to their enthusiastic President!

I've provided a link to the complete announcement by the NFA President, just click on the link found on the NIMS Message board, "Links & Announcements" it is the first link found on the popup page.

Sue, Descendant of Abigail Nims #1345
b. 11 Mar 1786 d. 16 Mar 1868
m.
Schilke Reunion and geneology

Hello, hello, hello fellow Schilkes! I heard that there is a reunion in Mass. (every year?) How do I get information about this and is there anyone out there who has done any extensive Schilke geneology work???

I am a Detroit area Schilke and my father grew up in Detroit during its hay day with 5 brothers and one sister. His father was Otto John Schilke and I have absolutely no idea where he came from, but I just found out that he came from a large family. He died in 1938. Besides this, I know nothing else. Can anyone shed some light on this subject
and let me know where my grandfather's brothers and family went to. Isn't this fun?!?

I am Kenneth, named after an uncle who fell in the third wave of the Normandy liberation, in 1944. This is a proud part of my personal history. Also, I have been involved in vocal music...my father, Robert, played violin and I have a haunting curiosity if I am in any way related to the Schilke Trumpet family from Chicago...since Chicago is not that far from Detroit and my grandfather, Otto John came from a large family. My father likes to work with his hands and so do I. My back is aching now from all the gardening, carpentry and other work I find myself doing. Making windchimes over the winter.

HOW ABOUT YOU, SCHILKE ?!?!
