1st annual Extended Kehn Family Reunion at Hanover, MN

What: 1st annual Kehn Extended Family Reunion

Where: Settler's Park (located at the Village Hall) Hanover, MN

This extended family get-together is being held in conjunction with the Hanover Harvest Day Festival. It is intended as a "no muss-no fuss" event. A couple of tents, tables and some chairs will be provided near the outdoor pavilion in Settler's Park, to sit and chat, get caught up on family matters, and to share family data, stories and photos. Feel free to come and go as you please, and enjoy everything the Hanover Harvest Day Festival has to offer. As you can see, there really is something for everyone.

I would recommend bringing folding lawn chairs for your family. For those with a healthy interest in our family history, please consider bringing family photos that can be scanned, a lap top computer, blank CD's and/or USB memory flash drives. I will have 1 or 2 laptops and a scanner available to share the files and photos that I have.

Regarding food, lunch and dinner will be served at the Village Hall during the Harvest Day Festival. The cost last year was around $5-$7 per person. Additionally, there will be several food vendors throughout the entire village. We'll also be located within close proximity to the beer tent for those who prefer an adult beverage.

I would like to keep a head count of people coming so I can adjust or alter plans accordingly, therefore, it would be helpful to let me know if you plan to make it.

Please pass this information along to other family members so everyone can make plans now. Anyone with questions please feel free to contact me via email. For those of you with email, I will provide updates between now and August as they become available. I truly look forward to seeing everyone there!!

Pot Luck Lunch at 12:00 – Please bring a dish to share.

There are only 2 picnic tables available, so you may want to bring your own lawn chairs and folding table if you have one. We also ask that you bring your own beverages, eating utensils, coolers, etc...

Rest Room facilities are available in the park.

We are also looking for a volunteer to bring a barbecue grill.

Any photos or memorabilia you would like to share – please bring it along! And, be sure to let your family know!!

In 2008 Onamia will celebrate it's Centennial. One event that seems to be of great interest is an All Class Reunion and/or All Class Directory.

A great deal of help is needed to gather names, addresses, phone numbers of student over the many years (death info, too). We are planning a family reunion July 4th weekend 2006 in Minnesota. We have a Family Reunion Committee working on all the details. As a way to raise money to help pay for the reunion we are preparing a Family & Friend Cookbook. If you would like to contribute/donate a recipe to the Family & Friend Cookbook please submit your recipes to Shaunda Edmonds at screigh@bellsouth.net.

If you like you can write a brief paragraph about your favorite recipe or submit a photo to be placed in the recipe book alongside your recipe.

We appreciate your donation and look forward to receiving your recipe.

We are in the planning stages for the Reasby 2006 Family Reunion here in Minnesota. We will post detailed information on July 31st 2005 here and also at this website;

At Albright’s Mill County Park, Howard Lake, Minnesota

This park is part of Elijah Rice’s (Pappy Rice) homestead, he was the of keeper for the mill, creamery, store, garage, and blacksmith shop. The main family cemetery is nearby.

Elijah Rice and Phoebe Pine had nine children. Elijah Rice’s daughter, Elizabeth Rice married Samuel Greer, they had seven children. We are hoping that other descendants of Elijah and Phoebe Rice, and descendants of William and Elizabeth Greer will attend our family reunion.

Bring your own food, beverages, coolers, and plan on potluck with whatever you bring. If you have portable table and chairs will they come in handy as there are only two picnic tables at this historic park. There is a hand pump and out house. There will be a couple tents for some shade and shelter. If the weather is tornadic, it will be cancelled without notice.

Hope to see you there, so we can learn more about our families and we have multiplied over the years. Bring your pictures and lets get to know who we are.

I realize their are families that we cannot "link" together but we all probable share the same "k" chromizome (sp) and DNA.
