Baptist Temple Reunion

On Friday February 15, 2008 a group of 20 people associated with the Grace Baptist Church/The Baptist Temple met to discuss the restoration of the Baptist Temple Building by Temple University. The group included current and former church members as well a trustee of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, and Pastor George Hawthorne.

They discussed their shared memories about growing up in a community of faith. It was noted that most of them still had the Bibles they received when they attended Sunday School at Baptist Temple. Another observation was learning about the “Peace that Passeth Understanding” by looking at the faces of the Four Chaplains in the large picture in the Chapel. The conclusion was that all were connected by their shared experience of learning about faith in Jesus.

As part of the meeting they decided that their shared purpose would be the following:
1)	Maintain fellowship with current and former church members
2)	Contribution to hallmark the building's Christian past
3)	Historic preservation

Therefore, a reunion is being planned for Sunday May 4, 2008 at the Grace Baptist Church in Blue Bell. This will be a time to worship and fellowship together. Another reunion will take place this summer at the site of the former Temple Camp in Collegeville. All current and former members of the church will be invited to participate.

The group would also like to fund raise for the restoration of a Stained Glass window to Honor the Members of the Grace Baptist Church: Past, Present, & Future. In keeping with the story of Hattie Mae Wyatt – contributions would be appreciated starting with 57 cents on up.

The evening ended with prayer and a promise to meet again.

For more information, to make a contribution and/or attend the reunion program on May 4 contact:
Herb Haigh herbhaigh@mindspring.com

On July 4, 2004, the Swegel/Tedesco Family Reunion will be celebrated in Forest City, PA. I am the family historian and notes collector for the family tree. I am running out of ideas for a clever way to present the facts of our family. Does anyone have a unique idea for presenting the Family Tree to the participants. We celebrate every 3 years. This is the 12th
reunion. Thanks for any suggestions.

We are planning a reunion of descendents and friends of Joseph Berbach & Victoria Sieffert and Madardi Kim & Victoria Nevergold families for June 2003 in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The Berbach and Kim families have had affiliations through marriages, god parents and friendships. It is long over due that we renew and celebrate our connenctions.

Reservations for parks in the Pittsburgh area cannot be secured until after January 2003. However, I would ask that if your are interested in attending to set aside Saturday June 21 and an alternate date of Saturday June 28, 2003. There is a reservation fee that we would ask participants to help pitch in for. Please let me know if you are interested in assisting in planning. We are thinking of having the event pot-luck style at a covered picnic area. We would also plan for an area cemetery tour of our ancestors for the following day. Please spread the word!

Marty Berbach
julieandmarty@aol.com
We would like to invite anyone to bring old family photos or Learn memorabilia along. We would like to scan the photos or take pictures of the keepsakes. What we would like to do is make a CD of all of these things so that they can be preserved. We also will make a list of what each picture or keepsake is. Then if anyone wants a copy we would be willing to do so for the cost of the CD and postage. I have the Learn book on my computer as a GEDCOM file. I want to associate each photo with the appropriate people in that file."

Nancy (Learn) Storck

The Snowden Family Reunion is Aug 13, 2000. I went last year but I will not be able to go this year. It has been an annual event for 38 years, maybe longer. I know that they have been going on for a long time. I used to go out to some property that was owned by my Uncle Bob in North Sewickly Twp. (maybe Franklin Twp.) It was right next to my Uncle Jack's house. All the children of John E. Snowden II my greatgrandfather would be there, They would bring a covered dish, and we would sit on benches and eat together. They had games for us kids, and vollyball for the adults. We all had lots of fun! They moved the reunion to this church some time ago. They have a nice shelter there and a playground for the kids. This is a family thing, so there will be no alcohol. Email me if you have any questions. jonsnowden @aol.com

Concord United Methodist Church
285 Concord church Rd.
Beaver Falls PA

As Always,
John L. The reunion starts with a potluck picnic from noon to 1 PM. This will be followed by a business meeting and some fun activities and prizes for children. Directions--Hunker lies a mile or two south of New Stanton, just west of where the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) and I-70 intersect. The fire hall is on Walnut Street, just off of Bridge Street, in the village of Hunker. The building is just down the street from the Community Hall where we met for a number of years. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to John Tarr.

TROXELL in Gettysburg, Adams Co. 2000

To All Troxell family members and friends:
How about having a "Gathering" in Gettysburg,
Pa. on July 3, 2000, just to meet and see the
site of the great battle. We could pay our respects
honor those Troxell soilders that fell in battle,
and whose names appear on the Soilder's Memorial in the
Gettysburg Park.I choose this place to gather because it is
where the first settler of Gettysburg was John Troxell and the recent
Mayor of Gettysburg was William Troxell. If there is an interest in this
idea, send me an e-mail and maybe we can all
work to organise the event. Sincerely Bob Troxell.
