I wanted to remind descendents of John and Peggy McDill Peden (Rebecca Martin married Alexander Peden) that the reunion at Fairview in Greenville County, South Carolina is coming up soon. It is always on the weekend of the 3rd Sunday of July. Please consider making this celebration! There is so much history there and you actually walk in the areas your ancestors also stood. More information will be forthcoming on this site. The services are on Sunday and activities are always planned for the day before (Saturday).
Please Mark your calendar now and Plan on attending!
Rebecca Bruton Moss
House of William
The cemetery is lovingly mowed and maintained by interested members of the Big Lisenby Family. The "tomb-rock" (as they were called then) of Hezekiah and his wife are the only professional grave markers for Lisenby family members are marked simply with rows field-stones (probably plowed up from the very fields they worked). This is a very, very old family cemetery.

Family Reunion.

To all of the cousins that are planning on attending, or thinking about attending the family reunion in Charleston, SC at the end of June. I talked to Ross DuBose yesterday, 4-11-01, about how the arrangements for the reunion are going. I have been out of the net for a couple of months while I went to school to upgrade to a new type aircraft. He said that he had heard from a number of you that plan to attend, but we need to know what kind of hotel arrangements that you need. We would like to get as many of you in the same hotel as possible so that we can get better rates. That would also allow us to make arrangemnts for transportation, etc. Also we would like to know your thoughts on forming a national DuBose Family Association. I am personnaly for this, as it would allow us to work together to clear up any missinformation that exists and at the same time we could fill in a lot of blanks about the family that people are trying to fill. Please let either myself or Ross know what you think and any ideas that you may have. I am looking forward to hearing from and/or seeing you at the reunioin this summer.
Cousin Jimmy.

Hello Walker Researchers,

I am in the process of trying bring together 8 generations of Walker Descendants who's roots were planted in Barnwell County, South Carolina. The reunion is planned for September in Barnwell, SC. I am looking for other Walker families who maybe descendants. Here is some background information on my Walker family.

Jackson Walker (b: abt 1820) and his wife Charlotte (b: abt 1820) of Blackville, Barnwell County, SC. 1880 Census records show there were 5 children:

-Lucy (b: abt 1850) m Unknown
(Elsie, Ilene)

-Vara (b: abt 1859) m Unknown

-Riley (b: abt 1860) m Mary Willis (James, William, Jane, Lizzie, Indiana, Augustus, Monroe, Roosevelt, Riley Jr., Flora)

-Joseph (b: June 1864) m Anna Brown
(Estreama, John, Mary, Caretha, Ben, William, Ula, Lela, Bessie, Joseph, James, Elizabeth)

-Mingo (b: Mar 1872 -my 2nd great grandfather) m
Jannie Franklin (Lena, Estelle, Elmira, Vincent, Clarence, Mingo, Sarah, Jannie)

I have new inforamtion about some of Jack Walker’s children that may have been sold
during slavery. He had 2 or 3 sons that were sold and took on the surname Jackson or Johnson. There may have been a step-daughter fathered by a
slave owner. She was thought to have moved to New York. She was very fair skinned and often let people believe she was White.

So, if you are a Walker by blood or marriage and have ties to Barnwell County or if you know someone who does. Please contact me. Our family is in the beginning stages of planning this reunion so we would like to include everyone.

Nicole

INVITATION TO REUNION JULY 2002

This is an invitation to the Bonapartes who live in the area of Lincoln University. There is a family reunion scheduled from July 5-7th for my Bowden Ancestors. This is actually my mothers side of the family (I am related to the Bonapartes on my fathers side). Although this is not a Bonaparte family reunion, you are all welcome to attend, as there will be Bonaparte descendants there.

My grandparents Charles & Annie Bonaparte-Baxter, were from the Orangeburg and St. Matthews area of South Carolina. They moved to Pennsylvania in the 1920's. My grandparents had family in New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey, and of course South Carolina. I will not be able to make the Bonaparte reunion, and would like to communicate with those who have knowledge of the family history.
