KULAKAUSKAS, Silale, Lithuania 1800s

Labas. I am a descendant of the large Lithuanian Kulakauskas bajorai (land owners, nobility) family clan that lived in the greater vicinity of Silale, Lithuania (western Lithuania) in the 18th and 19th centuries. I have a copy of the family bajorai genealogy chart and description prepared under Russian Czarist rule around 1900, which I obtained from the Lithuanian State Historical Archives. I also have a translated copy. It shows various family branches, gives birth dates, lists land they owned, etc. There are at least two family clans I know of descended from this chart who live in the U.S. (mine is one of them) and we have been in contact with each other. I am a member of the Society of Lithuanian Nobles, USA. Feel free to contact me if you are a descendant of the Kulakauskas family.

Grand Duchy of Lithuania

According to CIA FACTBOOK the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is more correctly the Grand Principality of Lithuania. By way of interpretation, this royal style flows naturally from the coronations of Kings Mindaugas and Gediminas, variously and inappropriately degraded to Duke or Chieftan. Vytautas missed coronation as a result of Polish intervention, although he was the hereditary successor and ruled Lithuania as such. See www.geocities.com/unifamily/grand.html re current Grand Duke of Lithuania in Darwin Australia.

I have no dates for her or her husband, but her father-in-law, Robert Pierson (1701-1763), married in 1740. Her second son, also Robert, was a merchant in Riga and married Charlotte Hay, the daughter of John Hay, also of Riga. She herself is described in a Pierson genealogy as "of Livonia".

Waclaw Onyszkiewicz Jacyna
and
Jadwiga de Lizy Tarnowska

According to their daughter's immigration documentation:
Waclaw was born in Riga, Latvia
Jadwiga was born in Luck/Lutke, Poland
Both were last seen in Wilno, Poland during WWII
Note: they were both probably born 1880-1900+/-.

Possible children of Waclaw and Jadwiga include but are not limited to:
Anna Maria Kristene Alexandra : b.Wilno, Poland
Waclaw: possibly spent time in England at Hursley Camp
Wladislaw: last seen 1939, with Armed Forces in Poland

Anna Maria's 1st husband: Taddeusz Baranowski of Poland
Anna Maria's 2nd husband: Svend A. Tang of Denmark
We have found no documented children with either husband.

The following are unsubstantiated rumors regarding the above-referenced people:
1. there may be a Radziwill connection as Anna Maria spent occasional holidays with "Uncle Radziwill" at Antonin;
2. if Poland had gone with a King instead of becoming a Republic, Anna Maria's grandfather would have been the King;
3. Anna Maria and her siblings spent their childhood on their grandparent's estates near Wilno;
4. Anna Maria possibly had 2-3 children who died in a boating accident with relatives when their boat hit a mine;
5. Anna Maria spent time at the Tashkent Camp in Russia from 1939-1942;
6. Anna Maria possibly led 13 children from Russia back to Poland and many years later ran into one of them at a Polish embassy party;
7. Anna was occasionally addressed as Countess;
8. in the mid 1970s, five of Anna's relatives visited her and Svend in Denmark; the relatives were from Zurich and/or Zermatt; the one from Zermatt had a home with a view of the Matterhorn;
9. Anna Maria may have been related to King Frederick of Denmark as Svend, in a letter to Anna, referred to King Frederick as Anna's cousin.

If anyone recognized the above-referenced people, please contact me.

nancyneely@aol.com

Labas. I am a descendant of the Vazgirda bajorai (land owners, nobility) family clan of Lithuanian ancestry that lived in Telsiai County, Lithuania in the 19th century, mostly in the vicinity of Varniai and surrounds. I have a family chart prepared in the late 19th century, and other genealogical information. There are at least two branches of descendants of the family clan that live here in the U.S., and one in Argentina. We have been in contact with each other. The surname of course has numerous spellings. If you are a decendant, feel free to contact me. Best wishes, Frank
