Hi to all you history buffs
On my original posting I was seeking a Dowsett at the court of king Charles, well I have found him, his name was Abraham Dowsett (sometimes spelt Doucett) the Clerke of the Kitchin at the court. I have found several mentions of him in letters to parliament, including details of how he, after being defeated by Cromwell at Naseby he was sent with Charles to Carisbrooke Castle he was also arrested with a Mr Osborne after a failed rescue attempt to free Charles. The next mention I can find is he is Bailed to attend some business at the Southampton Assizes with the King and a Major Rolfe, still trying to find out what that was.
Can anybody shed any light on what the business may have been
