Re: The Kaiser and his Court
Hi Shirlee,
I was wondering if you could help me shed some light on the origins of my Gr Gr Grandfather. The name we knew him by was Julius Hermann Rosler (the o has an umlaut, but this may not be his real name and oral family history hints a von may have preceded the surname). He claimed to be the son of a Prussian Cavalry General (possibly with the christian name Karl/Carl) and claimed to be a cousin of the Kaiser. He also mentioned growing up in a castle... In family papers he states that he was born 6th September 1825 at Minden a district of Westphalia in Prussia. Although no trace could be found of his birth in Minden (the city), it was a garison town and quite likely a cavalry general could be stationed there!
Can you help me find this needle in a haystack.
Kindest regards,
Karen Wenke
