There are different ways to track down facts as they have developed in royal families German or otherwise.
This writer shares the same genetic blood line as some you speak of, from sharing the same ancestor that makes up the blood line.
One does not have to be married into said royals lines but only share the same BL to be related. My ancestors however did marry into certain related lines
