I heartily disagree with your statement "if you find Stewart's in an area with Cromwell's, you can be sure this is a Royal Line of Stewart's."
Genealogy requires documentation or DNA tracking or a combination of the two to be considered valid conclusions. Which "records" and "documentation" specifically point to this connection? As Genealogist Emeritas for the Stewart Clan, I would be interested in proven documentation for such an interesting claim. It is never too late to learn something new.
