Well I will tell you what is interesting about this. I have a record that a 45 year old Christopher Gist, a 22 year old George Washington and a 15 year old Jacob Myers, all surveyors for the Ohio Campany, visited Queen Alliquippa in presentday McKeesport/Pittsburgh Christmas Eve 1753. Christopher Gist's great grandmother is Edith Cromwell and Edith Cromwells great grandfather is Oliver Cromwell the Lord Protector of England. Now I believe Oliver Cromwell does have a connection to King James Stewart of England.
The other way is Christopher Gist's brother Thomas Gist is married to Susan Cockey. Susan's nephew John Cockey Owings is well recorded to be in business with Surveyor Jacob Myers in the Slate Creek Iron Works in Kentucky. Thomas Gist and Susan Cockey's son is Gen Mordecai Gist who is George Washington's personal friend.
At the Queen Alliquippa grave site in Mckeesport which is empty by the way, has the Rolfe, Harrison, Simms, Douglas and Stewart family buried in the next lot over. The Powells of Lt Col Leven Powell are also in the same grave. The Hepburns, Simms, Douglas and Harrisons are very well recorded to be related to Lt Col Leven Powell's family of Middleburg VA. I believe Lt Col Leven Powell is a descendent of Capt Willaim Powell who is Capt John Smith's friend the second caption to the three ship fleet to Jamestown in 1607. Then in 1614 Pocahontas and her family visited King James Stewart. The family stayed as the Kings guests for about a year.
