My ancestors come from Choromany near Lomza as well. Most pre-mid 19th century family records for the town were burned in a parish fire. According to my father and grandfather, the family received it's nobility back in late 14th century in a battle against the Tutonic Knights (not Grundwald, which was early 15th). The family coat of arms is Lubicz (Two maltese crosses and a horse hoof).
