I encourage you to visit www.salvoni.us
where you will see many of us listed. Salvoni is a very unusual name. You will also see a copy of the transcript of the letter that explains (in English and in ancient Italian) this story.
We are still trying to find official records, and my "cousin" is leaving for Italy this week to pursue this quest. He's from Lombardy and so is a native and knows his way around. He didn't find the letter in his grandfather's things until after he had moved to Canada.
If all this proves to be true, it would expose the dark side of the royals of that era, but you can find it out there today anyway if you look hard enough. My cousin is Salvoni by birth from a long line of Salvoni's that are supposed to go back to this original Magnussen. If DNA could prove a tie to the Magnussen line, I doubt if anyone would want that to be proven from their side so finding a volunteer descendant would be unlikely. Being female, all I can do is help with the web site and hope the truth is someday shown.
