I am not as knowledgeable about French titles as Brittish ones, but it seems that the place to start is to determine what title (if any) did Jean have before he gave it up and came to America. As he was a younger son, he may not have had a title. In the brief search I did on him, I could not find him listed as a child of Antoine (not saying he is not a child); do you have his birth date? Henry IV was born 1553 and had brother, Louis-Charles, that was born and died 1554; and sister Catherine, b. 1558/9 and died 1604.
