That's why I dont so much mind if my work is posted---the more available it is,the more chance I have of finding more cousins. but if someone plagiarizes my work, puts his name on it, those 'new' cousins arent going to be able to reach me, and that makes me feel cheated out of my reward for all the years of work.
I agree with you also, that names and dates dont belong to anyone....but written and collected family letters and bios belong to the author just like any other writer's work.
