I just found when I did a search that someone has on line that my mother in law and father in law are cousins. This could not be further from the truth. I wish before people put information on line they would pay attention to what they are posting. If you haven't done the resarch yourself and know something to be a fact your work is basically useless. Please think about what you are posting and go over it before you just send in something that you have no idea whether or not it is correct. When people post something they got from someone else who got it from someone else it is irresponsible and defeats the purpose of actually finding out what is correct. As for the post-it- notes if I send 10 I am lucky if one person responds to find out if I know what I'm talking about. I understand we all make mistakes doing genealogy but we could certainly avoid a lot of them if we verified information before posting it all over the internet.
