My gr-grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth Parker, also was a survivor of the SS San Francisco, Jan, 1854. She was rescued on the Three Bells and I've been trying to find a list of passengers who were brought into the port of New York 1-13-1854. She was "adopted" by Brevet Major George Taylor, Company A, of the 3rd Artillery, and his wife Emeline, since her parents died soon after they arrrived from England where she was born. Major Taylor and wife were swept off the top deck with the lst violent wave that took so many lives. But somehow Margaret must not have been with them at the time, as she survived.

Any hints of a list of those on board the Three Bells? Al I've been able to get from the National Archives is a list of the ships manifest, which only includes the crew.

A book has recently been published by descendants of the Taylors, Tamara Taylor Leigh and her father Richard Taylor. It's called "Shipwreck! The San Francisco Tragedy," avaiable at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

Hope to hear back from you and some others interested in the Three Bells!
