I use the Web Clipping tool a great deal. Since I've converted to FTM 2014, I've noticed that as I clip and then merge a page from sites, specifically http://www.fichierorigine.com/index.htm
and Finland Family History Association http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/index_eng.htm
the resulting source citation often reverts to a previously saved/linked source citation, one which isn't necessarily linked to that person in my database. I haven't figured out if there's a pattern to which it reverts to, but I find I have to go back into the citation after merging to edit out the wrong URL and enter the correct one. Sadly, I didn't notice this happening at first, so I'm not sure how many of my citations are affected, but this is a real problem for me.
A second problem I have with Web Clipping, one which existed in FTM 2012 as well occurs when I merge a clipped marriage fact to someone with more than one spouse.. Even though the web merge dialog allows me to select which spouse to merge it to, it does not always save to the spouse I select. I often have to go back into person view and copy the citation from the wrong marriage, paste it to the correct one, and then delete it from the wrong one. Again, this is annoying, and it also is a real problem given that the merge dialog gives the appearance that the citation is going to the correct marriage/spouse.
So first, if you use web clipping a lot, double check your citations. And second, is anyone else noticing this?
