Your question has an interesting twist. If you are using FTM 2014 as a front end for an online Ancestry tree, the app will do what you want.

It you are using FTM 2014 to manage your genealogical data on you computer, you may not have enough memory and storage space for FTM on your ipad.

I use FTM to manage my genealogical data on my hard drive. I have a modest tree and it requires nearly 7 GB for the data plus the 650 MB of program files. Very few files in 7 GB are connected into FTM. This does not include all of the picture images that are on my disk that has genealogical images.

My FTM database only contains about 1600 people.
