As one of many of your fellow users who has experienced problems synchronizing, I can relate to your frustration. I'm personally annoyed that they even released 2014 when there are so many unresolved bugs and performance issues that have persisted.
If the cause of your sync'ing problems is a bug in the software (which I think it's likely the case), then you're stuck waiting for it to be fixed in an upcoming patch. That means that the root cause needs to be discovered by the development team. I'm not sure what to recommend to you to facilitate that. There is a SyncErrorReporter utility that I have with 2012. At one time we were requested to submit these reports. I don't know if that's still the case. The people in technical support *ought* to know.
