FTM has 3 fields for a fact. To enter the info you want, you can enter various text strings in the Date Field (per the Help file). My experience is that you can also enter a place in the Place Field in the Death Fact.

The recognizable text strings include: dead, deceased, child, infant, stillborn, young, unknown. (I personally don't see the need for unknown. If I don't know if a person is dead or not, I just don't create a death fact.). I have also discovered that entering a place in the Place field of the death fact is recognized by FTM when using the File > Privatize feature. In those cases, I use USA in the place field of the death fact
