Hi Russ,
WHAT EXACTLY happens when I click on Help, Register is that it returns the following message, as I have stated in a previous post:
There was a problem connecting to the registration server. Please check your Internet connection and try again or close this dialog and register later.
When I click on Online Help nothing happens.
When I click on Activate Ancestry subscription nothing happens.
When I click on Check for Updates it says:
Your copy of Family Tree Maker is up to date.
However, when I first installed FTM it did an update.
I have read and followed article 2257. Neither blocking startup programs or running in safe mode helped. It responded in the same way as listed above.
I bought this program in good faith and am feeling a bit peeved and very disappointed.
I appreciate your help, I just wish we were getting somewhere.
I noticed that one of the other people who can not get the program to register is Australian too. Do you know if others are? Is it possible that the registration server has a problem with our time zone being a day ahead?
Thanks,
Roxanne.
