Question for the people who already recieved 2009

Can you please tell me what the family tree chart is? I am hoping it is just a renamed version of the all-in-one chart.

Thanks

Frank,

Not sure what your question is. There have been various Family Tree Charts or Trees available in Family Tree Maker program over the various versions, including the All-In-One Tree.

However, the All-In-One Tree has not yet been re-introduced to 2008 or 2009.

Please clarify your question.

Thank you,

Russ

It is not an all-in-one chart. That has not been restored to the program yet.

The family tree chart is just another graphical representation of an ancestral chart. No siblings can be selected. It looks like tree with the selected person at the bottom and the ancestors representing branches. No all-in-one tree is available in FTM 2009.

Thanks. I dont recall seeing a chart called Family Tree chart in 2008 or any versions prior that I have used so I didnt know what it was and had hoped it was the all-in-one tree.

So the one thing that is stopping me from going to 2008/9 completely has still not been added back into the program. I will continue using 2006 as my main version until they add the All-in-One tree back.

Frank,

Is the All-In-One Tree, the only Family Tree / Chart that you use?

Have you looked at the Descendant or Ancestor Tree in 2006?

They are both in 2008 and 2009, under the Publish button.

Russ

Its not the only one I use but it is my favorite. I have access to a large format printer and am able to print my entire family tree via the all in one tree as a 6 foot by 9 foot chart using only three sheets of paper. I have used the descendant trees in FTM2008/9 but for my purposes the all-in-one tree is much better.

It is one of the 4 new charts added into FTM 2009

FTM does not have an AIO chart as yet but various postings by the company suggest that it is high on their priority list.

What I would suggest in the interim is simply GEDCOM a file from FTM 2008 or FTM 2009 and open it in what ever previous verion you have, eg FTM 16.

Run the AIO from FTM 16

There is absolutely no problem in running FTM 16 with FTM 2008 or FTM 2009 and in fact at a recent workshop I had the three programs loaded concurrently with the same root file and swapped back and forward to show the changes

I use FTM2006 as my main work program. I like FTM2008/9 for the descensant charts since i find them easier to modify and edit but I dont use the same file between the 3 programs. Everytime I use 2008/9 I will import my 2006 file. I print my AIO tree with pictures so making a gedcom file and then using that would lose all my pictures.

Where did you see the comments made that the AIO chart was high on their priority list? I have read the various posts made by the company and all the responses to member cuestions and havent seen any mentioning the AIO chart. I have seen quite a few people state they want that chart in particular added back.
