I am trying to merge a GEDCOM into my existing tree, and it comes up with a lot (more than one hundred) flagged records. I have been through the entire list twice (since the merge keeps crashing), and would like to just accept the default recommendations for each merge point, since they seem to be spot on in most cases.
Anyone know how to fix the crash problem, or how to accept all suggested merge changes without iterating through each one individually?

Just as a note, I have tried the "Import all from ..." option, and it still crashes. In all cases it gets all the way to the end of the merge process (progress bar at 100%) when it crashes. It did this with another GEDCOM also. The host file has been compacted, with no positive results.

bump...anyone having this problem? The reply I got back from TGN was to uninstall
Windows
XP SP3, which is not an option.

I am having exactly the same problem. It does not matter whether it is a GEDCOM file or a FTM file. I am running
Windows
Vista Home.

Answer from Ancestry.com support.
"There are problems with the program handling more than 2500 names. We are working on solution for one of the next patches."

Well .. heck. I had the same problem. Merging a GEDCOM and it crashes when the progress bar reaches 100%.
So. 2,500 records. Guess that means two things ..
1) Try and get the records below 2,500
2) Import the GEDCOM file and save as a FTM file .. then .. see if I can mere THAT one ..

It does the same for me no matter the types of the two files. At least Ancestry finally acknowledges the problem, and hopefully a fix is forthcoming. FTM 2009 is basically useless to me without this functionality.

Well. They *said* .. 2,500. So.. I pulled up PAF, guess-ta-mated about half way in the file and exported that. It is about 1,900. If it imports that ok .. I will strip those records from the original file and import the remaining.
Fingers crossed.

I spoke with Ancestry yesterday about this, and despite all evidence to the contrary, they claim that this is a known problem and will be addressed in the upcoming patch. They would not give a schedule for patch release, except "at least a few weeks."
