Having read numerous messages here I finally understand that that "seamless integration" claim was a 'half truth' (at best). Here I was thinking that every time I added new information to my tree online that the information and sources would appear in the FTM2009 file of the same name on my computer. So this is not the case????

So how do I merge the two so that they both contain the same information, sources, media etc?

Should I download my online tree and then merge it with my FTM tree that's on my computer? Will that be tons of work?
