Found my 2006 disc, are there any special instructions before I try to install it?

Got impatient and downloaded 2006 and the update for Vista. Everything seems to be running fine so far except for when I try to print from ancestry site for current view it says error occured during this operation. Anyway to fix this? If I go to file and try to print, the page is blank but that was not what I wanted to do anyway.

Are you running Family Tree Maker "As Administrator"? (a Vista Freature)

Right click on the Family Tree Maker ICON and select Run As Administrator.

Does that resolve this problem?

If not, please provide the details of any error message.

I am running as administrator, now this morning when I thought I'd do some research, I hit the search button a message pops up and says FTM is unable to use default printer, please go to the printers options under control panel and select an appropriate printer. I have only one printer and it was working fine with the exception I emailed you earlier. I am unable to search at all.

Did you go to the Control Panel, and verify that your printer is set to Default? (I also suggest that you use the Test Page button to verify).

So now, after you Reboot your PC, do you still have a problem running a Web Search / Web Merge?

No, that is working ok again. I am still unablt to print after you do a search, say a census page, hit the print button on the right side of the page, hit the normal print button and it says "printing error - an error occured during this operation". It will let me print from the custom print but that is not what I want to do. If I pull up a Kentucky death record, and open it up, I am unable to print that. If I go to file and hit print, I can only print what the search result first brings up, if I try to go to "view original" it will not let me print.

Not sure which "print" button you are having a problem with. Is it your Browser Print button?

Can you print from your Browser, outside of Family Tree Maker?

If you go to Ancestry.com, (not from Family Tree Maker) go to that Census Page, can you view and Print from there?

Can't print from family tree maker, so I did as you suggested and opened another window and typed in ancestry.com and tried to print off of their and the same problem occurs, comes up with a error message that says "an error occured during this operation".
