Hi all,

I'm very new to this software so please be gentle. :o)

Is it possible to add the children from a partner's first marriage to the Descendant Chart as well as the children from the current marriage?? I can only get it to show the current marriage's children.

I hope this makes sense.

Dave

Dave,

The Children will appear with the appropriate relationship.

What Chart are you looking at where they do not appear?

Let's say it was "Wife" who married twice. If you create a Descendants Chart for "Wife", both marriages and the children of each will be included on the report. If you create a Descendants Chart for "Husband #2", only the children of his marriage(s) will be included because those are the only children that are his descendants. Likewise, if Husband #1" is the focus of the Descendants Chart, children from the Wife's 2nd marriage will not be included as those are not descendants of "Husband #1".

This is pretty standard in genealogy softwares.

Many thanks! That makes sense. Just to confirm, there is no way to overide this so they all show?

Dave,

Remember that Trees and Charts are Blood Line related. So, if the Husband has multiple marriages, some with and some without Children, each of those marriages and children will be there. However, looking at one of the Female lines, only the appropriate children from that relationship will appear.

Does that help?

Russ

Yeah that makes much more sense. I did the descendant chart for the particular person and they were there but then the whole chart they weren't but now you've explained it, it makes perfect sense!!

Thanks to all for your help?
